And here is an overview of some of my tools

Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP)

NLP was founded in 1975 by Richard Bandler and John Grinder, and many people refer to it as ‘the owners manual to the brain’ or, 'the technology of achievement'. Modeled on three of the most effective therapists in recent history, Fritz Perls (the founder of Gestalt therapy), Virginia Satir (a founder of family therapy and systemic therapy) and Milton H. Erickson, M.D. (founder of the American Society of Clinical Hypnosis) NLP contains the psychological tools, techniques, and strategies that practitioners use to help their clients make rapid and permanent change to the way they think, feel, and behave in their personal and professional lives. NEURO is how our neurology subconsciously codes and processes information from our senses. LINGUISTIC is how we use language to communicate experiences to ourselves and others. And PROGRAMMING is how we execute our internal strategies to achieve specific results. By understanding the principles behind each of these three components, as well as the way that they all fit together, Neurolinguist's can help you make major changes to your life in minimal time.

Hypnotherapy

Hypnosis has been practiced since records began, and many historians can trace it back to documents found in ancient Egyptian temples. As the name suggests, hypnotherapy is a type of therapy which uses the state of hypnosis to enable clients to make positive and permanent change on a deep unconscious level. In its modern incarnation, hypnotherapy is an integrative field of study, which means that the best elements of many other forms of therapy are integrated into it – including behavioural psychology, cognitive psychology, EMDR, NLP and the most effective classical theories proposed by Freud, Jung and Adler. Hypnosis is a natural state with no harmful side effects, and in it's most basic form hypnotherapists use hypnosis to sidestep the conscious mind, so that they can talk to and reprogram the unconscious mind – the source of not just our problems but the solutions to them, too.

Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT)

Developed in the early 1990's by Gary Craig, a personal performance coach in California, EFT belongs to a new class of psychological treatments known as Energy Psychology. In essence, EFT is a form of psychological acupressure which uses a gentle finger tapping technique instead of needles to stimulate traditional Chinese acupuncture points on the face and body. This highly targeted tapping, when combined with the user remaining focused on an identified problem, has been proven to balance the body's energy system, so that the body and mind can resume their natural healing abilities – relieving psychological stress and physical pain. In tests, EFT has proved itself to be clinically effective in thousands of cases with emotional issues such as stress, fears and phobias, anxiety, depression, trauma (including PTSD) food cravings, and performance anxiety. And because physical pain is so often the byproduct of emotional unbalance, EFT has also been shown to produce incredible results with a wide range of physical conditions such as chronic and acute pain, migraines, headaches, and breathing problems. EFT is safe, easy to apply, and can be taught to you as a self-help life skill which you can use on yourself whenever the need arises. As well as being practiced on a face-to-face basis, EFT is commonly offered – and every bit as effective – via Skype and/or phone sessions.

Matrix Reimprinting

Matrix Reimprinting is an incredibly powerful timeline-based energy therapy created by EFT Master Karl Dawson in 2006. Like inner child work, it enables clients to mentally go back to events in their past and free themselves of any negative emotions and limiting beliefs connected to them. However, on top of that, Matrix Reimprinting uses EFT meridian tapping, and the principles of Quantum Physics to 'reimprint' those disempowering and often painful memories with empowering ones. This 'positive reimprinting' is important, because when trauma's happen in our lives (be they big T war traumas, or small t pre-school traumas) the memory of those moments are frozen in time until the unconscious mind can process them. Although we aren't consciously aware of all of these 'frozen' memories stacking up on top of one another, to the unconscious mind (which has no concept of past, present or future) they are not in the past, but in the present, and still happening, over and over again on an unconscious level, as we go about our daily lives. Until these memories (known as ECHO's) are released by a technique like Matrix Reimprinting, these memories manifest themselves in emotional distress, restricted performance, physical illness and disease.

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR)

EMDR is a powerful form of modern psychotherapy which uses bilateral brain stimulation to recondition an anxiety response. Originated by Dr Francine Shapiro in 1987, the left and right hemispheres of the brain are stimulated through bilateral eye movements, or other forms of rhythmic, left-right stimulation, such as sound or touch. By focusing on a negatively charged memory as this process is carried out, the brain's information processing system is accelerated, thereby rapidly resolving inner-conflicts in the unconscious mind. EMDR rose to fame for the way it enabled practitioners to treat victims of severe trauma, such as survivors of war and natural disasters, but today, it is used just as effectively to relieve things like stress, depression, anxiety and fear, as well as dramatically enhancing performance in both creativity and sports.

Eye Movement Integration (EMI)

Similar in many ways to EMDR, Eye Movement Integration was developed by Connirae and Steve Andreas in 1989 to treat traumatic memories. Rather than using EMDR's left to right bilateral stimulation, EMI has a slightly different approach. It uses the multi-directional NLP Eye Pattern Movements to untie the knot of negative emotion, such as trauma, anxiety, stress, fear, phobias and depression.

Timeline Techniques

Timeline Techniques are fast, powerful, and highly effective psychotherapeutic interventions which trace a particular negative feeling, belief, or limiting decision back along a clients timeline to the first time in memory that it can be found. Once arrived at, the negative energy attached to these initial memories, known as 'root cause events', is released, and therefore neutralised. The theory behind Timeline Techniques is that the problems we have in the present are likely to have their roots in the past. So what is bothering us now, is not what is happening to us now but, what it has reminded us of in the past, at an unconscious level. Unlike practitioners of Timeline Therapy™ who religiously follow a rigid trademarked script word for word (if you have the same problem as another person you'll get the exact same script), we use Timeline in a much more flexible way, fitting the technique to the individual, rather than the other way around.

Performance Enhancement Coaching

Performance enhancement coaching is not therapy, although the process of being coached, and the results that coaching can help you achieve, can have therapeutic benefits – less stress and anxiety, more focus and direction, a process that helps you set and reach the personal and professional goals that are most important to you. From athletes to top businessmen, performance enhancement coaching helps individuals maximize their potential, and is driven by looking towards the future, not the past. If you look at your life as a journey, a coach does three things: they show you the track you're on, they show you the choices and the places you can change, and they help you persist in that change. People come to coaching for many different reasons, but there is one thing that they all have in common, there is a dissociation between their dreams and their reality. Unlike therapy, which is mainly a face-to-face relationship, coaching is commonly done over the phone, or via Skype.
